It is not known when Bessie came to live with Mary. Mary lived to be 90 and passed Bessie on to her granddaughter, Daisy Wright Nowlin at her death. She is about 145 years old now. Mary kept her hanging on a wall in her home. Daisy keeps her lovingly bundled as the treasure she is.
Mary's grandmother was Susannah Wright.
