Minnie Elizabeth "Mindy" Hall was born April 25, 1882 to Joe and Sarah Caudill Hall. She was in the 1900 census with her parents as 18 years old. In 1901 she married Lee Johnson. He was a widower with two sons, Caleb and George. They lived in Millstone. By the 1910 census Minnie had five chldren, but only four of them lived: Lula 6, Isabel 4, Alice 3 and Dewey 1 year and 4 months.
By 1920 Minnie had three more children: Willard, Willie B, and Lola.
On October 18, 1926 Lee Johnson died. Minnie was on her own in 1930. Living with her were Willard, 16, Willie , 15, Lola 12 and Bennie 7. Also in the household listed as a boarder was Belle Davis, 25 with her children Joseph, 2 years 10 month, Herman 1 year 7 months, and Minnie Lee 1 month. This was her daughter Isabel "Essie Bell".
